This digital guide is for the road trip version of the island.
The version with fog sliding through Anaga, volcanic landscapes around Teide, narrow roads dropping toward Taganana, lava pools in Garachico, mountain roads in Masca and tiny coastal towns that look nothing like the Tenerife most people expect.
This guide gives you a realistic 1 week Tenerife route based on my own road trip across the island, with practical notes on where to stay, how to group the stops, what to prioritize and what I would do differently.
★★★★★
This is not the all-inclusive resort version of Tenerife.
This guide is for travelers who want the island to feel like a real road trip, not just a sunny place to sleep.
The route starts around Tenerife North, Santa Cruz and Playa de Las Teresitas, then moves through Anaga, the Taganana coast, La Orotava, Teide, Santiago del Teide, Masca, Garachico, the south and Golf del Sur before flying out of Tenerife South.
It is the route I would recommend if you want foggy forests, volcanic viewpoints, coastal villages, lava pools, mountain roads and a version of Tenerife that keeps changing every day.
A practical road trip plan for the dramatic side of Tenerife.

This is a digital travel guide. No physical product will be shipped.
After purchase, you will receive access to download the Tenerife road trip guide and use it while planning your trip.
The guide is based on my own Tenerife road trip experience, with practical notes added to help you avoid building an itinerary that looks good in a spreadsheet and feels terrible in real life.
This route works best for travelers who plan to rent a car, move around the island, start early and explore more than one base.
It is not the Tenerife guide I would recommend for a slow resort trip, long beach days, minimal driving or one hotel for the whole week.
Before your trip, always check current opening hours, road access, trail rules, weather, parking details, cable car availability and local restrictions, especially for Anaga, Teide, Masca, Punta de Teno and natural pool areas.
